Overall I think this webinar was very beneficial in teaching about how to utilize mobile devices in the classroom. I was able to learn about the benefits and the challenges that will come with using the devices. I can use this in my classroom if I teach at a school that is using mobile technology in their classes. Some of the examples I talked about above are the examples of the important things I learned throughout this webinar such as privacy and student's use of the devices. This webinar was very beneficial to my professional development as a teacher.

- Suzy Brooks talks about how their bring your own device plan enables students to bring their device and publish and share their hard work online. She says that students enjoy getting to share their work with the world. She talks about how they used their devices to solve math problems. They were able to solve webcasts together on their device.
- Jason Heim gives examples of how his students use an app called explain everything. He says students are able to add audio and video to pictures to make their presentations more interesting and fun. For example they were able to make models of the layers of the earth and were able to zoom in and give the experience of what it would be like traveling through the layers of the work. He says that this method was very successful for his students to learn the concepts they needed to know.
- Todd Curtis is an administrator in a school district and he talks about the administrative side of the technology initiative. He talks about how he asked a student what it was like to publish her work online and she told him that she loved it. She said she loves being able to get the feedback to help her in her writing.
- Todd Curtis also talks about the 1:1 technology and how the technology takes away roadblocks. He uses the example of primary sources. He talks about how their device allow the students to do much more research than they were able to before.
- Jason Heim talks about some parental concerns. They were worried that their students were not going to get the same treatment as students who weren't using technology. He says that they were able to enhance the curriculum and they still participated in the same tests.
- Suzy Brooks tells about how the new technology can teach students how to protect their privacy. She says that she does not recommend her students post a face to a name. She says they do not use student names in videos, instead she uses numbers and nicknames. This is all to help protect the privacy of her students.
- Suzy talks about how she keeps students on task with devices. She says that she establishes rules at the beginning of the year and that she actually encourages her students to come up with the rules. She says that if they break the rules they have to take a test on the rules to be able to use their devices again.

Blog Reflections
Throughout the fall semester of 2013 I participated in a series of blog reflections. All of the blogs that I participated in came from http://ushistoryeducatorblog.blogspot.com/. These blogs were very beneficial for me because they gave me a ton of ideas that I can use in my class in the future. I would also recommend to any history educators to check out the website because it is a valuable resource for reaching today's students!
